The CSRO strives to find a cure for paralysis and improve the quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries (SCI) by funding SCI research. With the help of our members and corporate partners, we are excited about the scientific developments that are happening at Canadian Spinal Research funded labs across North America.

To see a chart of the research projects supported by the CSRO over the past 20 years, please see the side bar menu.

Through funds raised through our Shoot For a Cure Campaign, we continue to move one step closer to achieving our ultimate goal, finding a cure for paralysis.

Research is a long term initiative, which often spans over several years.  While the process requires patience, there is the potential that research can lead to treatments that will ultimately improve the lives of those with spinal cord injury and related neurological defects.

Below, you will find the most recent updates on some of our most significant research projects. The CSRO is committed to funding these and other research projects that show promise in improving the quality of life for the estimated 400,000 Canadians and Americans with spinal cord injuries.
